Search Courses

Course search options

In QIS-LSF, several methods are available to find lectures and classes. Depending on your goal and what information you already have, you can choose between different search options.

You can find courses via:

  • Degree Program Schedules
  • Course Directory
  • Search Courses

The clearest view of your regular classes is usually provided by Degree Program Schedules, as they show your program’s lecture plan structured by semester.

Course Search

The “Search Courses” function is especially useful when you want to search for specific courses or combine criteria (for example lecturer, time period, or language of instruction).

Start Search and Display Results

  • Click “Start Search” to display results.
  • Use “Discard Entries” to reset all filters.

In Display options, you define:

  • how many results are shown per page (for example 10, 20, or 50)
  • which sorting criterion is used (default, title, number, abbreviation, or lecturer)

Course Detail View

After clicking a course in the results list, the detail view opens. This page contains all important information on content, framework, and dates.

  • Course type (for example lecture, tutorial, seminar)
  • Course number and module number
  • Semester and academic year
  • Semester weekly hours (SWS) and credits
  • Language of instruction

In the Dates section, you find all planned class dates.

Shown information includes:

  • Weekday and time
  • Period in which the course takes place (for example from October to January)
  • Room where the course is held

If dates are canceled or moved, this appears in the Remark or canceled on column.

At the bottom of the detail view, you can bookmark dates for your personal schedule.

  • Enable the “bookmark” checkbox for the desired date or course group.
  • Then click “Bookmark selected dates”.
Bookmarked dates are only saved permanently after you save them in your personal schedule.

From here, you can continue searching or open and manage your personal schedule.
